“Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.” — 1 Timothy 4:12

01. INTRODUCTION

With grateful hearts, we present the Annual Report of the Youth Ministry of TSA Tamil Church, Sion.

The past year has been a meaningful journey of faith, fellowship, worship, service and leadership. By the grace of God and with the guidance and support of our Corps Officers, Local Officers and parents, our young people have continued to grow—not only as participants in the church, but as active servants and leaders in God’s ministry.

Today, we have 89 active youth, of whom 11 have joined newly.

02. SPIRITUAL GROWTH

Our youth continue to place God’s Word and prayer at the centre of their lives.

2.1 Saturday Youth Meeting & Bible Study

Every Saturday from 9:00 PM to 10:00 PM, our youth gather for fellowship, Bible study and spiritual growth.

2.2 Sunday Bible Sharing

Every Sunday from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, our young people gather to share the Bible message themselves. This helps them develop confidence in God’s Word and become spiritual leaders among their peers.

03. WORSHIP & MUSIC MINISTRY

Worship has always been one of the strongest areas of youth involvement in our Corps. Every Saturday at 7:30 PM, our youth gather for choir practice and preparation. Every Sunday, they contribute through music and song, helping lead the congregation in worship.

3.1 A Special Achievement

One of the highlights of this year was the opportunity for our youth choir to lead worship during the General Visit of the Mumbai Division. This was a significant milestone and a testimony to their dedication, preparation and willingness to serve.

3.2 Areas of Involvement

  • Choir and worship
  • Leading prayers
  • Sharing Bible messages
  • Leading portions of worship services
  • Sunday School ministry
  • Other church programmes

04. REPRESENTING THE MUMBAI DIVISION

Another memorable achievement was the opportunity given to our Youth Leader to lead the March of Honour for the Mumbai Division during the General Visit at Ahmednagar. This was a proud moment for our Corps and demonstrated the leadership and commitment of our young people.

05. FELLOWSHIP & CARE MINISTRY

Our youth fellowship believes that ministry is not limited to the church building. Our young people have played an important role in caring for the elderly, church members and people in need.

Their care ministry includes:

  • Visiting people in their homes and hospitals
  • Offering emotional and spiritual support
  • Praying with those in need
  • Standing beside people during difficult times

Through these acts of service, our youth are learning that Christian leadership means caring for people.

06. OUTREACH & COMMUNITY SERVICE

Our youth have actively participated in reaching beyond the walls of our church.

6.1 Outreach Fasting Prayer – Virar

Our youth participated in an outreach fasting prayer programme in Virar, seeking God’s guidance and praying for the growth of His Kingdom.

6.2 Medical Camp

We conducted a Medical Camp in association with Somaiya Hospital, providing the following services:

  • General Medicine
  • Eye Check-up
  • Physiotherapy

This programme enabled our church to reach and serve people in the wider community.

6.3 Blood Donation Camp

Our youth participated in organising a Blood Donation Camp, encouraging the church family and community to contribute towards saving lives.

07. YOUTH & CHILDREN’S MINISTRY

Throughout the year, our youth have actively participated in organising and supporting programmes for both Youth Ministry and Children’s Ministry. Their involvement has extended beyond attendance to:

  • Planning programmes
  • Coordinating activities
  • Taking leadership responsibilities
  • Executing programmes

08. GROWING LEADERSHIP

One of the most encouraging developments this year has been the growth of youth participation in church ministry. Our young people have moved from simply participating in programmes to taking responsibility and leading ministry.

This year, 10 of our youth have taken leadership responsibilities within the church, including:

  • Local Officers
  • Worship Leaders
  • Sunday School Teachers

Our youth are now involved in leading worship and prayer, sharing Bible messages and leading complete sermons. This growth is one of the most encouraging signs of the development of our youth ministry.

09. FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY & SELF-SUPPORT

Every year, two major programmes are supported through fundraising within the Youth Fellowship:

  1. Christmas Crib
  2. Youth Retreat

With the guidance of our Corps Officers and Local Officers, our young people take responsibility for planning, fundraising and supporting these programmes. This develops financial responsibility, teamwork, accountability and ownership of ministry.

10. TSA SION MEDIA TEAM – A FEATHER IN OUR CAP

One of the most significant achievements of our youth ministry is the development of the TSA Sion Media Team. Our young people have embraced technology and are using their skills to support the ministry of the church.

10.1 Song Book Application

Two years ago, our team developed and launched our own Song Book Application, making our songs more accessible and supporting the worship ministry.

10.2 Church Website

This year, we took another major step forward with the launch of our official church website. This is a wonderful example of how our young people are using their creativity, technical skills and time for God’s Kingdom.

The TSA Sion Media Team represents a new generation of ministry—where faith, creativity and technology come together to serve the church.

11. LOOKING AHEAD

As we look towards the future, our vision is not only to strengthen the youth ministry of our own Corps, but to build a strong platform for young people across the Mumbai Division.

We dream of seeing young people from different Corps come together to:

  • Encourage one another
  • Share their gifts and talents
  • Learn from one another
  • Work together for one purpose

To build the Kingdom of God.

We believe that today’s youth are not simply the church of tomorrow. They are the church of today. Our responsibility is to equip them, encourage them, empower them and give them opportunities to serve.

12. CONCLUSION

As we look back at this year, we do not simply see programmes and activities. We see young lives growing in faith, young people discovering their gifts, leaders emerging, and young people serving the church and the community. Above all, we see God’s grace working through our young people.

We give all glory and honour to God for everything He has enabled our youth to accomplish.
